Hero, Bajaj and TVS to Launch Budget Electric Scooters in India Soon

Electric scooters are becoming more common on Indian roads. They are quiet, smooth and save a lot on fuel costs. Till now, most electric scooters were priced above ₹1 lakh. But things are about to change. Hero, Bajaj and TVS are ready to launch their most affordable electric scooters in the coming months.

These three brands are already popular for their petrol scooters and bikes. Now, they are entering the budget EV segment to challenge players like Ola Electric.

Hero Vida VX2 to Launch on July 1, 2025

Hero MotoCorp will bring out its most affordable electric scooter, the Vida VX2, on July 1, 2025. This scooter has already been seen without any cover. It looks very similar to the Vida Z that was showcased at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo earlier this year.

The VX2 will be available in three versions – VX2 Lite, VX2 Plus and VX2 Pro. These variants will share the same motor and battery pack that we see in the Vida V2. However, to keep the price low, some high-end features from the V2 will not be offered on the VX2.

Despite the price cut, the VX2 is expected to offer a decent range. According to reports, it may start from just ₹65,000 (ex-showroom). That could make it one of the cheapest electric scooters from a big brand in India.

TVS Jupiter EV Expected Around Diwali

TVS is also getting ready to launch a low-cost electric scooter. It will be cheaper than the iQube and could be called the Jupiter EV. The name has already been trademarked by the company.

The Jupiter EV is likely to arrive during the Diwali season. It will have a simple design and basic features. The battery will be smaller than the one in the iQube. So, it won’t go as far or as fast. But it will be perfect for short city rides.

TVS might price the Jupiter EV around ₹85,000 to ₹90,000 (ex-showroom). This scooter will be made for customers who want a trusted brand but also want to save money.

Bajaj to Launch New Entry-Level E-Scooter in June

Bajaj Auto will also introduce its most affordable electric scooter by the end of June 2025. Rakesh Sharma, one of the company’s top executives, confirmed this during an investor meeting.

This new scooter will be based on the 2903 platform. It will join the Bajaj Chetak line-up as the cheapest option. So far, Bajaj hasn’t shared full details. But it is expected to be simpler and more affordable than the current Chetak models.

The new Bajaj e-scooter will be for buyers who want a stylish yet cost-friendly ride for city use.
