Hyundai Bayon to Launch in India by Mid-2026 to Rival Fronx, Kiger & Taisor

Hyundai is working hard to stay ahead in the compact car space. The Korean brand is planning a wave of new models in India, and one of the most talked-about launches is the Hyundai Bayon. Codenamed Bc4i, the Bayon is expected to enter the Indian market by the middle of 2026. This new crossover will take on rivals like the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Toyota Taisor, Renault Kiger, and Nissan Magnite.

With growing interest in small crossovers, Hyundai is aiming to fill the gap between the Venue and Creta with this new model.

Bayon Will Sit on Hyundai’s K2 Platform

The upcoming Hyundai Bayon will be based on the same K2 platform as the i20. This is a trusted and well-known base for Hyundai’s compact vehicles. The platform helps in keeping costs under control while offering a good mix of comfort and safety.

This compact crossover will target buyers who want something bigger than a hatchback but don’t want a full SUV. It will likely be smaller than the Venue but packed with more tech and style to attract young urban buyers.

Familiar Petrol Engines from the Venue Lineup

Under the hood, Hyundai is expected to offer the same engines found in the Venue. That means a 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine for daily driving, and a more powerful 1.0-litre turbo petrol engine for those who want extra punch.

Both engines will be offered with manual and automatic transmission options. This makes the Bayon a flexible option for both city commuters and highway users.

Globally, the Bayon also comes with 1.0L T-GDi and 1.4L MPi petrol engines. But for India, Hyundai will most likely stick to its tried-and-tested local options to keep pricing competitive.

Feature List Will Match Hyundai’s Premium Standards

Hyundai cars are known for their loaded features, and the Bayon is expected to be no different. The cabin will likely share many parts with the Venue. Buyers can expect a large touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. A fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, and auto climate control will also be offered.

Top trims could include a powered driver seat, single-pane sunroof, rear AC vents, and six airbags as standard. Hyundai may also include connected car tech and voice controls.

Bayon’s Design Will Be Sporty and Youth-Friendly

One thing that sets the Bayon apart is its design. The model sold overseas has a bold, sharp look with split LED lighting, sporty bumper design, and sleek tail-lamps. For India, some design changes may be made to match local taste, but the overall styling will remain quirky and modern.

The car’s compact size, wide stance and strong lines make it look fresh and different. Hyundai is betting that this new design will help it stand out in a crowded segment.
